mPerfecting your taco seasoning is the key to this viral favorite.
Ingredients
1 lb ground beef (80/20 recommended)
1/2 cup water
Homemade Taco Seasoning: 1 tbsp chili powder, 1 tsp cumin, 1 tsp paprika, 1/2 tsp oregano, 1/2 tsp onion powder, 1/4 tsp cayenne (optional), 1 tsp salt, 1/2 tsp black pepper
12 corn or flour tortillas
Toppings: Shredded cheese, lettuce, salsa, sour cream
Instructions
Brown Beef: Cook the ground beef in a skillet over medium-high heat, breaking it up with a spoon. Drain off any excess fat.
Add Seasoning: Reduce the heat to medium. Sprinkle the homemade taco seasoning (all spices) over the cooked beef. Stir well for 1 minute until the beef is fully coated and the spices smell fragrant.
Simmer: Pour in 1/2 cup of water. Bring the mixture to a simmer and cook for 5–7 minutes, or until most of the water has evaporated and the beef is thick and saucy.
Warm Tortillas: Warm your tortillas either in a dry skillet for 30 seconds per side or quickly in the microwave.
Assemble: Fill each tortilla with the seasoned beef and top with your favorite toppings!
